International Course "Molecular Biology of Viral Diseases"

International Course
"Molecular Biology of Viral Diseases"
March 20th to 26th, 2011
La Capilla, Punta del Este
Maldonado, Uruguay

Intended (but not restricted) to those participants who have a degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and related areas who are doing their Master, PhD thesis or similar. They must have a basic knowledge of the theory and be directly involved or, in the near future, in virus transcription, replication, evolution, structure; bioinformatic method and related areas.

OBJECTIVES
The topics highlighted by the course will provide participants a opportunity to learn the most recent and important aspects of the field of virology research in relation with disease and an invaluable opportunity to discuss the most recent advances in this field with senior scientists that are world leaders in their fields of research.

MAIN TOPICS
* How newly discovered mechanisms of virus transcription, replication, evolution, structure and evasion of host innate immune response relates to the diseases viruses cause.
* Bioinformatic methods and tools recently developed to permit to obtain a more in-depth understanding of many of these aspects.
